Yesterday, I applauded support groups. Today, I’m giving it up for volunteers!
For the last 22 years, I have been blessed to work with incredible volunteers in several different venues. Today, I’d like to thank those volunteers – any volunteer really – who has made the commitment to offer her/his services and time to make the world a better place. Volunteers aren’t thanked enough and they should be thanked often! From the parent who helps in the class room to the peacekeepers in war torn countries, volunteers are incredible people.
I would especially like to thank my StorkNet volunteers – message board moderators, cubby editors, experts and journalists. Their time is valuable and busy, and yet they find the time to offer their expertise and support to StorkNet. Message board volunteers often have a thankless job in trying to be unbiased and available despite busy lives. And honestly, they frequently have to put up with a lot. Ladies – I love you and I’m very very grateful for every . single . one . of you!
So here’s to the volunteers, wherever you encounter them. Say thanks, shake a hand or give them a hug – they deserve it!
